Outdoor Yoga classes take place on the quayside at Dell Quay, Chichester throughout the summer months and as far into autumn as the weather allows. The views are stunning and there is always something in the water on which to fix your Drishti (gaze), it could be the moored boats, a bank of swans or the ever-changing water flowing in and out of Chichester harbour.
The outdoor class at Dell Quay is a vinyasa flow yoga and suitable for all levels and abilities. Modifications are provided to ensure everyone can get what they need from the class.
The yoga flow is slightly modified to take into account the uneven surface and also the elements, but some people find the slightly uneven surface easier for the balancing poses.
Poses such as boat make a regular appearance, but camel is not included due to the impact on the knees. The wind was quite strong during one class and poses which occupied the full length of the mat were quickly introduced, there were plenty of Warrior Two poses, Triangle pose and Locust pose.
Reviews for this class have been extremely positive…
‘I absolutely love this outdoor yoga class. It is a beautiful location where you can see swans waking up and opening their wings to the day in the same way you open up your arms to a mountain pose. Ali is so calm and positive and infuses the class with clear instructions allowing you to confidently flow from one pose to another. I smile throughout the session from my solar plexus, radiating sun rays back to the sky. I would highly recommend it’ Kim G (June 22)
‘Yoga with Ali under blue skies and by the water was an awesome way to start the weekend’. Nicky M (August 22)
